1 These numbers were assigned for the sole purpose of identifying each employee uniquely.
2 The training program is offered from time to time and is voluntary (it is not a job requirement). Employees who have not taken either training course are coded as "A". They become "B" after the first training course, and change to "C" after the second and final course.

We will use this dataset for assignments. The dataset is in the file Employee.sav which is in SPSS/win format. To download the file follow these instructions. In Netscape Navigator right-click on the file and select "Save Link As ... " to save the file to disk (i.e., either to drive C:\ or D:\  or A:\ if you accessed the Web site from your home; note, always save to a diskette in drive A:\ if you are using a machine in any of the labs on campus). In Microsoft Internet Explorer right-click on the file and select "Save Target As ..." and choose the drive that you want the file saved (preferably drive A:\ if you are in the lab). You can even open the file in SPSS/win when download is completed by clicking on the "Open" button.
